BIOGRAPHY:

Thorsten has 20 years experience as an actor, voice-over artist, casting director, writer, producer, director & teacher, both in South Africa & the USA. After a post-studies performing stint with Chicagos PBP Rep Co and running his own schools touring company in SA, Thorsten has worked steadily in all mediums. Among 10 movies, a highlight was an international lead in SLIPSTREAM, opposite Sean Astin and Vinnie Jones. His television appearances include ISIDINGO, EGOLI, GENERATIONS, JOZI STREETS and APE TO MAN (BBC); in 2008, he was seen as the violent stepfather in the provocative series, INNOCENT TIMES. Casting highlights include the Oscar-nominated Will Smith epic, ALI, the internationally award-winning CHIKIN BIZNIS and SOUL CITY IV (Avanti Casting Award). Thorstens most recent stage appearances were in the Naledi Award-winning CHARLOTTES WEB, the 2005 hit, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and as Zoltan Karpathy in MY FAIR LADY (2006), the latter two both at the prestigious Pretoria Opera State Theatre. Recent noteworthy voice assignments were as the German AV narrator for the Melrose House museum and as an American CNN presenter for an MTN corporate. He is also writing a reference book on the SA film industrys history. Thorsten speaks German & English fluently.
