Miskar Chomse is a South African actor with an LTCL Diploma in Speech and Drama, with Distinction, from Trinity College London. Miskar realised his passion for performance in 2001 where he played in Pinoccio at the People's Theatre in Johannesburg at the age of 11. From there he focussed on Drama throughout highschool and through extra curricular activities. In 2006 he started with Trinity and continued till 2013 when he was awarded his Licentiate Diploma (Level 6). During his Licentiate course, he wrote a thesis entitled 'The Actor's Toolbox,' referencing the life works of Stanislavski, Artaud, and Peter Brook, his subjects ranged from mime technique and its use in theatre, the differences between stage acting and acting for camera, as well as a consolidated theory for characterisation which earned him a distinction.
Throughout his studies Miskar was involved in professional theatre, namely, The Lord of the Dance at the Promusica Roodepoort (2010), Slimkop - children’s theatre (2012) and The Chained Book (2011 touring, and 2015 at the Theatre on the Square). After his studies Miskar featured in a production titled Love Runs Out, directed by Johan van Rooyen which played at the Johannesburg Fringe and LALT Theatres in 2016. His theatrical specialisations include Mime, Improvisation, Movement, Drama and Comedy.
Miskar adjudicates mime, improv, prose, monologues, dramatic pieces and poetry for the National Eisteddfod Academy.
Miskar produces his own YouTube Channel titled Tiki-Boxx, for which he writes, directs, edits, performs, provides voice over and captures all footage.
