Maurice Carpede is an actor best known for his part, Lukas Phiri in Voete van Goud.
His other Television appearances include, Justice for All directed by Peter Goldschmidt, Plek Van die Vleisvreters (dir Gerrit Schoonhoven), and the character Miles in the daily drama, Generations. In 2007 he played the role of David Verweij in the Dutch mini-series Stellenbosch and in 2008 he was cast in the part of, Soldaat in the M-Net mini-series, Feast of the Uninvited.
Maurice has excelled as a presenter, working for Pasella on SABC2, Kwela on Kyknet and as a Continuity Presenting on the SABC.
In 2008 he began hosting Sweepslag, an Afrikaans-language live music show which showcased up-and-coming Afrikaans musicians alongside more established acts.
He is an excellent MC and motivational speaker, contributing his skills to SABS Design Awards, the 2001 Loerie Awards, the 2002 model of the Year ceremony and numerous end of year functions.
But he is best known as a DJ on Jacaranda 94.2, South Africa's largest independent radio station broadcasting in English and Afrikaans, with a footprint that covers Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the North West Province of South Africa and boasts an audience in excess of 2.5 million.
He hosts the show "Workzone", on weekdays from 10h00 to 13h00.
In 1995 his theatrical talents were awarded with the Cobus Rossouw Award for Most Talented Young Actor and in 1997 he was nominated for a Vita Award as Best Actor in the Free State.
Carpede is multilingual, fluent in Afrikaans, English and South Sotho.
