Born a Leo in 1981, Henco always knew that he wanted to be a performer. An actor – a word dreaded by most parents, but he was fortunate enough to be blessed with an extremely supportive family.
After High School he studied Drama at the Tshwane University of Technology, where he graduated with a B-TECH Degree cum laude and completed his Tap Association Membership with Danscor, which makes him a certified professional Tap Dancer.
Fresh out of college he threw himself into stage, film, television and mime work and subsequently worked in Miami, Florida to broaden his horizons.
“I usually play the romantic lead, vulnerable friend, cocky jock type and even the mysterious shy or quiet guy with a secret. I love them all!”
Like most actors being type cast seems like the kiss of death but Henco J has embraced every role and has made it his own. He loves a challenge and is always up for new and exciting parts to play.
His television and film credits include Binnelanders, Askies/Zulu for Sale, Egoli, 7 de Laan, Dryfsand, Generations, Agter die Skerms, The Death & life of Young Winter, Training to die for, Unusual Predicament as well as Susanna van Biljon.
Henco is also a writer and director, and his career highlight came in 2014; when he won the Jameson First Shot Short Film Competition. He had the opportunity to write and direct the screenplay of Mundane Goddess, which starred Uma Thurman and produced by Kevin Spacey
You could call him a dreamer, a performer, an actor, an artist, a dancer or even just a down-to-earth nice guy. But if you want someone who is dedicated, professional, hard working, reliable and gives 100% of himself…Henco J is the choice for you!
