Helene obtained a BA Drama degree from the University of Pretoria and subsequently became a graduate from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
With her extensive training and experience as a voice artist she excelled in both English and Afrikaans and she can conjure up American, Indian, Italian, Spanish, Russian, French, and British accents.
Helene has been an actress for the past 17 years.
In 1996, she received rave reviews for the title role in the play, Frieda Kahlo’s Eyes written by Harry Kalmer. Her unforgettable characterization in the play, The Bald Soprano and in the play, Die Man met die Dertien Kinders, distinguished her as an exceptionally gifted actress.
She is best known for her portrayal of the character ‘Sandra Sutterheim’ on the daily drama series, 7de laan. Other television credits include Generations, Konsternasie Oppie Stasie, Life is Wild, Pandjieswinkelstories, Geraamtes in die Kas, Donkerland, Scandal! and Mooiloop.
Helene was also seen in the movie Bakgat, Hanna Hoekom directed by Regard van den Bergh, and French Toast in 2014.
