2010 - AFDA AWARDS Best Male Actor in a Leading Role
As a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate, Gideon has managed to advance his talent in a very short period of exposure to the dramatic arts. Drama was one of his school subjects and as a result of this exposure his passion for drama was ignited.
After school he studied at AFDA and obtained a BA and BA Hons. degree in live performance. Here, he received the award for best male actor in a leading role. As a member of the judging panel, actor and director Andre Odendaal, commended Gideon on his acting in the lead role of the film Black Sunday, by saying that a star has been born.
The well known actress Annette Engelbrecht trained and developed Gideon as an actor. He also played the lead role in the movie Skollies opposite Frank Opperman. Frank guided him and Skollies was screened on Mzansi Magic Channel. He also played the role of ‘Adam’ in Vrou Soek Boer and ‘Os de Waal’ in Kalushi.
Gideon was also exposed to corporate theatre in the play Who killed Change?
