Dania Gelderblom grew up in a small town in the Western Cape, named; Citrusdal.

Although she participated in drama as extra mural in Citrusdal, she was only really introduced to performing in High School Outeniqua, which she attended in George. She took drama as a subject and participated in drama competitions.

In 2007 she actively started doing drama and ended up winningthe Fred Riddick Award for Best Actress and was announced as Arts Fest Best Actress. In the same year she also participated at the “TV Plus tienertoneel” competition - ending up in the finals where she was chosen by Jan Ellis to play the role of Leana in the first Teen drama, “Nou Wat Nou” performed at the Suidoosterfees in Cape Town. Under the lead of Shirley Ellis as the director of “Nou Wat Nou” she finally realized that she wants to be an actress.

After school she went to study drama at the University of Stellenbosch where she had the opportunity to play nurse Tibalt in  Marthinus Basson’s “Romeo+Juliet+Juliet+Romeo”. She also performed in the student play; “Animals” that was performed at the Grahams town Arts Festival. During her studies she also shared the stage with the talented Antionette Kellerman in the Afrikaans play; “Pase”.

Dania also finished her post graduate certificate in Education last year.

She can currently be seen in TV ads, the South African film: French Toast,Gat in die Muur, as presenter of Huis Paradys and plays such as: People are living there, starring Anna-Mart van der Merwe and directed by Andre Odendaal and Welkom in Suid-Afrika.
