The bubbly, versatile and well-travelled Caitlin Kilburn’s love affair with the thespian arts began at the tender age of six with her appearance in The King and I. The ensuing decades have seen her grace the stage in a number of countries and in a wide variety of roles. Her passion for her craft has led to her not only capturing hearts and minds with her acting talents, but also through numerous teaching gigs including a stint as a lecturer at The University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Pietermaritzburg. Caitlin Kilburn’s award-winning career has included a dazzling portrayal of Sally Bowles in Cabaret, followed by her star turn as Aldonza in Men of La Mancha, for which she garnered nominations for Best Lead Actress and Best Newcomer at the Mercury Durban Theatre Awards. These nominations would be the first of many including; Durban Theatre Personality of the Year, Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Peppermint Patti in Snoopy, along with wins in the Best Supporting Actress in Children’s Theatre for her roles in 2015’s Puss in Boots and Kickstart’s Aladdin in 2016. She has also wowed international audiences as leading lady Sheila in Peter Nicol’s classic drama A Day in the Death of Joe Egg performed in Seoul, South Korea. This was followed by a 2013 Dubai tour as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Upon her return to South Africa, Caitlin made her Johannesburg stage debut in the Joburg Theatre’s hilarious Spamalot. Other note-worthy appearances include Lulu Levine in Love, Crime and Johannesburg, Tallulah in Bugsy Malone, as well as roles in Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat, My Fair Lady, and Annie. Most recently, Caitlin has begun her transition to the silver screen with a role as intrepid investigative journalist Janine in the critically acclaimed SABC production Isidingo: The Need.
