Anna-Mart received a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama (Bilingual) from the University of Cape Town in 1986. She was nominated for a Fleur du Cap Award in the Most Promising Student Award category.
During a two year stint with the now defunct PACT at the Windybrow Theatre in Johannesburg, she appeared amongst others in Dieter Reibles productions of The Women of Troy and Die Hekse van Salem, Bobby Heaneys’ Boo to the Moon and Lucille Gillwalds’ Sing jy van Bomme.
Since 1989 she has been freelancing and her first TV appearance was in Annie Bassons’ TV Drama, Uitdraai, after which numerous TV series such as Sonkring 1 & 2, Torings, Konings, Onder Draai Die Duiwel Rond, Soul City, Amalia, Feast of the Uninvited and Binneland followed. For three and a half years she also played ‘Christelle Terreblanche’ in the TV soap, 7de Laan.
She has had the privilege to work with Katinka Heyns on various productions and a definite highlight was the feature film, Die Storie van Klara Viljee. Other film credits of Anna includes The Long Run, Red Dust, Hanna Hoekom and Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux.
Theatre highlights includes The Seagull, Uit die Bloute and Generaal Mannetjies Mentz directed by Ilse van Hemert, King Lear directed by James Whyle, Uncle Vanya/Oom Wanja, Twaalfde Nag, Begeerte, directed by Janice Honeyman and God of Carnage directed by Alan Swerdlow.
